THE NOISE THAT BEGINS TO REORDER THE BOARD

There is no scandal. And that is precisely the problem.

What is circulating today in international media is not an indictment, not a formal accusation, and not a ruling. It is something more uncomfortable: a signal that no one can control from Colombia.

And when the signal comes from outside, the local board moves—even if they try to ignore it here.

It’s not what is being said. It’s where it is being said.

In Colombian politics, we are used to internal noise: leaks, fights, momentary headlines. But this is different.

When an issue appears in international circuits with high verification standards, it ceases to be a domestic debate and becomes a reputational risk for the State.

And that has three immediate effects:

It leaves government control
It enters diplomatic reading
It becomes input for internal political actors

All without a single conclusive piece of evidence.

The trap of overreacting… and the trap of silence.

There are two classic mistakes here:

The first: shouting “set-up” and closing ranks. The second: downplaying it and looking the other way.

Both are functional… but neither addresses the core issue.

Because this type of episode is not measured by what has already been proven, but by its capacity to install legitimate doubt among decision-makers.

And that’s where the real problem begins.

The blow is not legal. It is narrative.

The government has built its power on a clear narrative: a break with past practices and moral superiority over traditional elites.

That is why the impact of this episode—even in its preliminary phase—does not pass through the courts.

It passes somewhere else:

the coherence of the narrative.

Because when discourse is the main asset, any crack—no matter how small—is amplified.

And what begins to erode is not a case…

it is credibility.

The signal few are reading.

While some debate whether this is serious or not, something more important is happening:

the silences.

Allies who do not come out with the same strength
Spokespeople who change the subject
Figures who lower their profile

In politics, silence is not neutral. It is time to recalculate.

And when power begins to recalculate, it is because it already understands that a potential cost exists.

The variable entering the game.

Even if all of this ends in nothing—a completely possible scenario—there is already an irreversible effect:

A new variable has been introduced onto the board:

reasonable doubt.

Not proof.
Not conviction.
Doubt.

And that alone is enough to:

cool alliances
strain support
reorder bets toward 2026 and 2027

Because no one builds power on future legal certainties. They build it on present perceptions.

For whom is the board being reordered?

Not everyone loses when doubt appears. Some need it.

Because in politics, noise does not create disorder: it redistributes advantages.

The board is being reordered:

For those who were waiting for a crack and now have an argument without exposing themselves
For uncomfortable allies, who find an elegant excuse to take distance
For the intelligent opposition, which does not shout scandal but lets doubt do the work
For external actors, who read stability as a strategic variable, not an ideological debate

And also—though few will say it—it is being reordered inward:

For those who begin to calculate scenarios without saying it
For those who understand that power is not loyalty… it is timing

What is really at stake.

This is not about case files.

It is about control.

Control of the narrative.
Control of timing.
Control of loyalties.

And today, for the first time in this episode, that control is no longer total.

The question that redefines the board.

It is not whether there is guilt. That is not proven and it is not appropriate to assert it.

Nor is it whether this will escalate legally.
